Billy Tuggle

Billy Tuggle aka Karma Threesixty has been a central figure of Chicago’s poetry scene since the mid-90’s. His accomplishments include the 2006 Rustbelt Regional Championship, several finalist and semi-finalist appearances throughout the country, and he represented Chicago at the National Poetry Slam for seven consecutive years. He’s an active member of KRS-One’s Temple of Hip-Hop and the arts collective PolyRhythmic, is co-founder of Chicago Four Star Poetry Club with Andi Kauth, and has hosted numerous poetry nights including Mental Graffiti and In One Ear. His importance as the hip-hop buyer for Tower Records’ Clark Street location from the early 90’s until its close in 2006 cannot go understated. Billy is also an accomplished author and speaker, having performed and facilitated workshops at a number of institutions including Northwestern University, Columbia College Chicago, University of Chicago, University of Minnesota and the University of California Santa Cruz, while mentoring young people as a volunteer for the Women of the World Poetry Slam, Louder Than a Bomb, Chicago Youth Slam and Brave New Voices.
