Add-2 grew up on Chicago’s south side surrounded by an environment that exposed him to many harsh realities at an early age. He found refuge in his writing; determined not to suffer the mistakes of his friends and peers. His unique blend of hip-hop, soul and jazz has led him to many impressive accomplishments in his short career including appearing on MTV2, Fuse, Hot97 and Shade 45 and performing alongside legendary artists The Roots, Common and Robert Glasper. He is also very active in the community, speaking to and mentoring young adults around the city and opened Haven Studio in July 2016 – a nonprofit designed to help kids the business of the music industry while taking them off the streets at the same time.
